In the first five months of new energy vehicle sales did not meet expectations, the first half of China's power battery installed capacity is only 17.5GWh, down 42%, shrinkage is very serious. During the period, although there was a brief growth driven by the end of the Spring Festival holiday and the resumption of work and production, the ideal rebound momentum was not strengthened with the re-sequential decline in the installed capacity in May. It can be said that the first half of the year under the shadow of the epidemic was frustrating.

Change under disappointment

In order to break the situation and survive, many power battery companies have chosen a strong joint development route, and are committed to solving the problems of insufficient battery life, lack of safety, high cost and other problems that have always existed in the product, hoping to promote the transformation and upgrading of the development of industry enterprises through the comprehensive change of the enterprise route, product price, technology and so on.

Among them, in the change of enterprise routes, the situation of huddling during the epidemic began to appear frequently. For example, in April, Ningde Times built a joint venture with Costa energy storage battery and equipment manufacturing base, and the head power battery company is speeding up cooperation with domestic and foreign Oemakers. At the same time, in the context of more and more car companies to open diversified supply exploration, the cooperation between battery manufacturers and car companies is also further accelerating. Recently, Ningde Times announced that it has reached a strategic cooperation with Toyota, and the number of cooperative car companies is again high.

In terms of technological changes, during the epidemic, a hundred schools of thought contended and a hundred flowers blossomed. At the beginning of the year, Tesla held high the banner of self-research and cobalt-free, and then around March, BYD introduced blade batteries to re-" turn red "lithium iron phosphate batteries. At present, although the industry market is still occupied by ternary batteries (accounting for nearly 70%), it is clear that lithium iron phosphate, cobalt-free and hydrogen energy are ushering in a continuous rise, especially the continuous warming of lithium iron phosphate, which is expected to impact the mainstream in the next few years.

In addition, in the change of product prices, the epidemic period also ushered in a wave of price cuts. According to the news, the recent domestic ternary battery system price in 0.9-0.95 yuan /Wh, LFP battery system price in 0.75-0.8 yuan /Wh, individual offers have been lower than 0.7 yuan /Wh, the price of these power batteries compared with the mainstream price has decreased significantly. According to domestic experts, this is not the limit, under the continuous role of new technologies and new processes, the price is expected to fall by about 10%-20% at the end of the year.

Opportunities for change
